→ Garnishes

# How-To Steps:

01 - Whisk together soy sauce, chicken broth, hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, honey, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes in the slow cooker.
02 - Add chicken pieces to the sauce and toss thoroughly to coat.
03 - Layer carrots, bell pepper, mushrooms, and most of the green onions over the chicken. Reserve snow peas and some green onions for later.
04 - Cover and cook on LOW for 3 1/2 hours.
05 - Add snow peas to the slow cooker after 3 1/2 hours.
06 - Meanwhile, cook lo mein noodles or spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain well.
07 - Stir cooked noodles and reserved green onions into the slow cooker. Toss gently to combine all ingredients with the sauce.
08 - Cover and let sit on WARM for 15–20 minutes, allowing flavors to meld and noodles to absorb the sauce. Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds and extra green onions.

# Helpful Tips:

01 -
  • The sauce develops this incredible depth while slow cooking that tastes like it simmered all day even though prep takes fifteen minutes
  • Everything cooks in one pot so cleanup is practically nonexistent and you can walk away for hours
02 -
  • Adding snow peas at the beginning results in gray mushy peas so save them for the last 30 minutes of cooking
  • The noodles will continue absorbing liquid as they sit so do not worry if it looks saucy at first
03 -
  • Cook noodles 1 minute less than package directions since they will finish absorbing sauce in the crockpot
  • Toast your sesame seeds in a dry pan for 2 minutes before sprinkling them on top for maximum flavor
